Well, I know I promised you that I would keep you informed of all the gory details of my move to Key West. And I am guilty of being remiss in my promise. However, things have been moving so fast that I haven't had time to report on one thing before another thing changes.
So, the biggest change in my life (and the most fulfilling) is I QUIT MY JOB! Just like in David Sloan's Book Quit your Job and Move to Key West.
Now, I know that sounds counter-productive. If you're trying to relocate your life, you would keep your job and make as much money as possible in order to move. However, I was spending 45-50 hours a week at a job I hated. Another 15 hours a week driving to a job a hated. And all the time I was miserable at my job and miserable in traffic. I was working out in the boondocks, in an office with no windows and absolutely no inspiration except my Key West Calendar, by Rob O'Neal.
Then I got sick. A nasty chest cold, virus, coughing, flu, fever, allergy thing. I spent a whole week in bed. My company was pissed because I didn't drag myself to work to get everyone else sick. And as I was lying in bed dying...I get this angry phone call from the owner of the company, blah, blah, blah and I hung up the phone and went back to sleep. When I woke up I felt better! I felt better because I had made up my mind that I was never going to let someone dictate how I live my life ever again.
I called him up, told him I wasn't coming back and I would be in as soon as I was better to pick up my stuff. End of conversation, end of job, end of misery.
I felt as if a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders. I immediately began recuperating! I felt better than I had in days! I had a smile on my face! I posted my new found freedom to Facebook! I went out and walked Mr. Mooney! I called my child and invited her to lunch! All the things I hadn't been able to do while I was working suddenly became attainable goals.
I had gotten so wrapped up in the process of planning my life, I wasn't living my life.
So I started looking for inspiration. I found it and now I want to share it with you!
When ever I get down, I reach out to The Bimini Mango Man! You just can't help but have a smile on your face when your hear him and his wonderful music.
